The two departments of the university are located in the lower Franconian cities Wuerzburg and Schweinfurt. In 1995, the department of Aschaffenburg was also affiliated, but was separated again to an independent university five years later. After Munich and Nuremberg, the University of Applied Sciences Wuerzburg-Schweinfurt is the third largest of the 17 state runned universities of applied sciences in Bavaria.
