International Office
The International Office is responsible for the international students, and operates as a resource centre for students from our partner universities who are interested in studying at the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt.
If you apply to our university and are offered a place, you will receive information from the International Office that will make it easier for you to make all the arrangements necessary to come and study here.
Once you arrive here, there are special information sessions and social activities for international students, which form part of the University Induction Programme, organised by the International Office.

Application Procedures
The Application Form should be obtained from your school or college.
As well your school or college must confirm that you are a student of them.
If they can’t offer you the Application Form and the confirmation Certificate of Enrolment, you can download here the application forms:

Applicants are advised to apply as early as possible.
It is in the best interests of all applicants to apply by the closing dates.

The closing date for the receipt of applications is, for
Winter term: 15th of June
Summer term: 15th of January

When we receive your application

The International Office will forward a copy of your application form to the faculty that you attend.
The faculties will endeavour to deal with your application as promptly and efficiently as possible.
Usually the decision of the Faculties will be sent to the co-ordinator or the International Office of your home university.

For Non-EU students we send to the contact person from your home university also the official offer letter (invitation).
With this official letter you can start the visa processing.

Applying for Accommodation
As soon as you are offered a place at the University of Applied Sciences, you will automatically be sent the Accommodation Applying Form with the application forms.

Orientation Programme
This is a two-week programme that takes place in September and March, before your chosen programme begins.

Winter term: 15th September – 1st October
Summer term: 1st March – 15th March

It is especially developed for international students who are new to our university and do not speak English as their first language.
It aims to provide an opportunity to have information about life in Würzburg and Schweinfurt.
It also gives you the chance to meet people and see something of the social and cultural life of Germany.

Students are not charged tuition fees for the orientation programme. > top

German Language Courses
The University recognises that students from other countries, whose first language may not be German, many need additional information and support during the application process, as well as during their period of study.
The Faculty for Common Studies (Fachbereich Allgemeinwissenschaften) as well the Faculty of Business Administration provides German language courses for international students.
The Pre-Sessional German Course prepares students for living and studying at our university.
The course starts two weeks before the official start of the winter or the summer term.
