"International Economic Relations with Asia"

Today's companies are exposed to constant chance. They organize for global competitiveness very differently from companies decades ago, and they try to gain competitive advantages by actively promoting change in their markets. Therefore, it is of utmost importance for management to maintain a corporate climate of learning and proactive behaviour.
The University of Applied Sciences Fachhochschule Würzburg-Schweinfurt and the Shih Chien University in Taipei, Taiwan have jointly designed this Executive MBA Program to develop the skills of the current global manager. We offer you a graduate degree in addition to your first degree that will enable you to be more successful in your future career. The postgraduate program in International Economic Relations with Asia provides special professional qualifications for careers in internationally operating companies or organisations.
International business courses are supplemented by foreign-language courses and study abroad. You will leave our university with the degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA). This postgraduate program will be fully accredited and government-approved.
Professors and teachers have international background and work experience in their field of expertise.
Our aim is to develop managers with global capabilities and special expertise in economic relations with Asia.

Qualifications / Admission Requirements |

To enter the course it is required:
- to be internationally minded in the approach to business and management
- to have completed a degree at a German university or comparable education at a foreign university/college in and economic, engineering, technical or a related course of study
- to have at least two years of work experience after graduating approximately in the respective field of study
- to have good English language skills (the teaching language is English) approved by either:
- TOEFL (or a similar accepted kind of test)
- having stayed in an English speaking country for more than half a year
- exempted from these requirements are native speakers
- to write a statement of purpose (Letter of Motivation)
- to send the Curriculum Vitae

Program Structure |
|
- Standard period of study is three semesters. At least one of these has to be completed at our Partner-University in Taiwan.
- The courses will be Friday, Saturday and two complete weeks per semester. An employment during the three semesters is possible.
- Full-time or part-time program.
- Students complete a placement / internship of at least 10 weeks in the foreign country. It may be completed in several parts. The successful completion of the practical education is assessed by a university representative. The decision will be based on a reference/certification issued by the company where the practical education took place, an additional report written by the student about his activities during the internship as well as on an oral examination.

Master Thesis |
|
- In order to obtain the master title the student has to write a master thesis. In this thesis the student
has to show his knowledge gained during the course of study and that he can apply it
on a complex realistic problem in a self-written scientific paper.
- The master thesis has to deal with issues concerning the region of destination (Europe or Asia) and has to
be written in English.
- The master thesis is supervised by two examiners, one of which can be belong to one of the foreign partner
universities.
- The time between receiving the topic of the master thesis and handing in the thesis, which is supposed to be written
during the regular study time, should be adequate to the complexity of the topic and should be no more than six months.
For important reasons this time limit can be extended by another month.
- The student passes the master thesis if he receives the mark "D" or higher.
